330 million people in rural sub-Saharan Africa suffer from water poverty

African women spend more that 40 billion hours fetching water. That's 5-6 hours a day on average.

115 people die every hour from lack of clean drinking water. That’s 2 people every minute

80% of diseases in the developing world are caused by lack of access to clean drinking water.

A child dies every 20 seconds from illnesses resulting from drinking contaminated water

Waterborne diseases account for 80% of diseases in children under the age of 8.

Learning and education suffers as children are forced to miss school

Painstaking water collection or an illness leads to less time in school, worse for girls during menstruation.
